In view of the Bank's migration to a more secured EMV chip card technology, we will be implementing the following measures effective December 1, 2017:

• All CTBC Bank issued magstripe/non-EMV cards will be deactivated. As such, affected cardholders must contact their Business Center of Account or our Customer Care Hotline for the immediate replacement of their card to EMV.

   

  For Debit or Cash cardholders under Payroll Accounts or whose cards were issued by the Bank's co-branded partners, please coordinate with your respective company's authorized representative.

 

• All CTBC Bank issued EMV cards will by then, can only be used in EMV compliant ATMs and Point-of-Sale (POS) terminals. Thus, transactions made in non-EMV compliant terminals will be rejected.
